SUMMARY:Geopolitics in (ecological) transition
DESCRIPTION:Sébastien Treyer\, Director of IDDRI (Institute for sustainable development and international relations). \n\n\n\nFor online (live) attendance: https://live.epog.eu \n\n\n\nFor the replay: https://videos.epog.eu \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSecurity and power relations between territories\, countries and regions are evolving rapidly due not only to the impacts of environmental degradation and climate change\, but also due to the structural transformation of economies that are necessary for the ecological transition. In this context\, the role of national states is confirmed by international governance arrangements like the Paris Agreement on climate or Agenda 2030 on Sustainable development. At the same time it is also challenged by a variety of other players as well as by the reality of what links ecosystems\, territories and people to one another. This intervention will introduce key questions and critical concepts to understand the reconfiguration of power relations\, competition\, cooperation and conflicts in a world that is transforming.
