Mobility (EPOG-JM)
The choice of a Major and Minor determines student’s mobility (for Semesters 1, 2 and 3). The potential mobility during Semester 4 is decided at the beginning of Year 2, in relation to the Master’s thesis project. The Majors and Minors are:
- Major A — Innovation, the digital economy and the sociotechnical bifurcation
- Major B — Macroeconomics, finance and the socioeconomic bifurcation with
- Major C — Sustainable development and the socioecological bifurcation with
The Major and Minor determines the institution in which the student spends the 1st year (Semester 1 and Semester 2). Then, all the students spend the Semester 3 in Paris where they improve their specialisation and develop a common culture.
During Semester 4, students write their Master’s thesis (and can choose between completing a professional internship or working in a research lab). They can choose to spend this time in one of the institutions visited previously in their pathway or to go at one of the associated partner. The programme ends with the EPOG “Master’s conference” (end-June / beginning of July) and for those students interested, with a non-mandatory essay (to be issued by the end of August).
The table below summarises the mobility rules:

Compulsory physical mobility
All enrolled students (whether Erasmus Mundus scholarship holders or not) are required to complete a minimum of two physical mobility study periods, each lasting at least one academic semester (30 ECTS credits or equivalent), in two countries different from their country of residence at the time of enrolment. One of these countries must be an EU Member States or third countries associated to the Programme (i.e. North Macedonia, Serbia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Türkiye). Compulsory mobility periods cannot be replaced by virtual mobility (distance learning).
This requirement is automatically met within Minors B3/C1/C2. For Minors A/B1/B2/C3/C4, students who reside (at the time of enrolment) in one of the countries on their Minor’s pathway must complete Semester 4 in a different country than those where they spent previous semesters. Furthermore, for French residents in Minor C4, this country must be an EU Member State or a third country associated with the Programme (excluding France).
